Scheduled Power Outage

Edison has a scheduled power outage tomorrow night from 9pm to 3am. What precautions do I need to take with my 45 gallon tank? Do I need to pickup a generator?

You should pickup a UPS battery backup to run your powerheads at the very least. I recommend ecoflow or anything with LiFePO4 based batteries (they retain their charge for longer). I think you should be fine with anything over 200 Wh in capacity. Mileage will depend on what/how long you want to run your equipment for.

If you have a MP10/40/60, you can borrow my battery. It will run the wavemaker for ~30hrs at 20%.

I donโ€™t have any power heads currently, just the dual return pumps from the AIO. If I could borrow that battery that would be great!

Sorry - the battery outputs DC so wonโ€™t work for you. Youโ€™ll need something like @mescobar recommended or use battery operated airstones.

Just picked up an ecoflow classic for $500. That should be able to run your tank for more than overnight. Well worth the small investment when we have thousands of livestock in our tanks!

Ecoflow is the way to go. They have an ebay shop where they sell factory warranty refurbished units. I bought a smaller one for my son and it's been going strong ever since. You just need to keep the return pumps going for that time period.

Glad to hear! I would get something more dedicated in case youโ€™re not home in the future.
