Lighting choices

In these modern reefing times we have tons of choices for lighting our animals, so what’s your choice and why did you choose your lighting? What’s the most important aspect of lighting, spectrum, spread, budget, warranty, features, etc?

@Drexl wrote: Yeah, those lights are pretty good. I think Julian is using them or keloray on his new nano setup. I really think it’s great that there’s some competition out there, as this drives innovation, which we truly need in this hobby. The big boys have done nothing in this regard, so it’s up to hobbyist creating and bringing new ideas to market, which I’ll always support. I think Luca’s panels will be out later this month or next month? But I know he mentioned they would be out this year.
I hope you're right, the sooner he comes out with pricing and release date the more likely I am to pick up his lights over the other flat panel options.

I also use reefi uno 2s at home and at coral shows for the reasons many of you have already mentioned. I prefer the blues. I also use a quanta helix bar on my main display and will be setting up a keloray light on a 36" shallow tank soon so I'll keep you posted on that. It's great that we have so many options and more to come.

Big claim is they will light up an 48” tank that can keep Sps for $ 1000

I'm not sure what size fixtures he'll have available, but the fixture he had over the tank at RAP reminded me of T5's and had nearly the same coverage based on what I was hearing. I can see how this would appeal to certain hobbyists, so we'll see.

Just my 2c's. The esthetics of the newer flat panel fan less options are a thumbs up. With the better half having some input, she mentioned it must look nice, furniture like. This was somewhat appcompisled with a hanging kit. Sound was another bonus with the flat panel designs. No sound is always sweet.
