Moved some frags & mini-colonies over from the frag tank (same water) but hoping angels won’t nip at them. Apologies for the horrific photos. I will get a decent camera one of these days.

So much for trying to chase pH — at full saturation and high evaporation rate (hot this week!). My Alk climbed to 10dKH so I’ll throttle down and go back to CaRx, which was super stable! I can dose kalk at night or lower the concentration …

Well - I nearly broke my wrist trying to scrape coralline algae off the 90gal and 65gal acrylic tanks. Thank goodness these 2 tanks are not that deep!

The SoCal highway chase for higher pH is over! Thankfully nobody got hurt except the driver’s self esteem but who cares. Looks like it’s very challenging to control alk due to unpredictable evaporation rate. I’ve been feeding full saturation kalk through an Avast Marine K2 kalk stirrer. Alk got past 10dKh so we’ve pulled over to let things cool down. We will flip the CaRx back online when we get close to 8dKH. Let’s review the kalk stirrer once we have higher consumption…

Update - Alk landed at 7.92dKH so just turned CaRx back online. Will stabilize this first before mucking with higher pH again.

We spent 2+ hours cleaning up the fish room today by removing some old furniture.

That is a great looking fish room! Such a cool build. Hopefully I can get on that level one day.

Thanks - still a WIP, balancing different species across tanks can be a pita. I’m impatient and gets bored easily - deadly combo in this hobby! I’m sure your tank will surpass me since I’m constantly mucking with it! lol
