Day 1 - Alk has not stabilized yet. Per the documentation, you have to calibrate it after 24hrs so we shall see…

Looks like it’s better now and I’ve integrated into Apex.

Alk was 7.6 so I’ve bumped it up to 7.8 with soda ash. Took 140mL to get the job done - verified against Hanna.

Next project - depending on next ICP test, we will resume kalk. Oh yeah — need to get AWC going but still waiting for something in the mail.

Spent an hour (or two) to move the Avast K2 into the sump. Putting this kalk reactor inside the sump is nerve wrecking so I might move it tomorrow. Anyway, it’s elevated above the water level so when both returns are off, kalk won’t dump into the sump. I’ve also secured with zip ties so this thing won’t tip over either. Let me know what you guys think…

Before @dooly poke fun at me for always tinkering, I’m not going to do kalk until my AWC is fully operational. 😁 It’s frustrating waiting for my custom floor mat from Florida. I sometimes get spoiled with Amazon overnight shipping. Waiting for a week seems like an eternity… In the meantime, I bought a 50mL beaker to calibrate the two Kamoer pumps to make sure we achieve equilibrium. I might need to get a water level sensor sooner rather than later as well. Alternatively, I can just hook up two big pumps and do this manually every weekend? Nah… that’s just too boring! 🥱 a.co/d/0airtINf

Wait — about the last idea.
    1. Turn off all return pumps
    2. Turn the valve and drain the sump to sewage drain outside
    3. Turn valve back to tank
    4. Pump mixed saltwater to sump
    5. Turn everything back on
Not bad — 10min tops and zero mess! Hmmm….

Just got home and the thought of the K2 leaking kalk into the sump and nuking everything scared me. So I yanked the K2 and found space to dose before the return chamber. Besides, it’ll be easier to add kalk in the future.
