Random FTS - I do have some Cyano’s in a few dead spots. I might need to up my flow or add some wavemakers on the side, which I hate, obstructing the 36” side view.

Made some frags last night: CC Voodoo Majick, PC Rainbow, and WWC Heartbreaker.

Well - got a new project since I’m bored and got tired of changing 50gal every weekend. I just bought a used 230gal acrylic tank (56x32x30) for auto water changes (AWC). Hope that this will bring more stability to the system so corals will take off! lol If you’ve done something similar, pls let me know your experience and share your success? I’ve never done this before so definitely learning. Heck, even changing water is a novel concept to me but figure I’ll try something new. 😁

I'll be following along to see this! It's something we have always wanted to implement, but haven't made the jump yet.

New to me after citric acid so it’s super easy to clean. The tank is in great shape - 3/4” all around, peninsula style. Should I start another reef tank? lol

I drilled a hole from the fish room through the stucco many months ago for another project. Well, it turned out that the sewer drain-out is conveniently located next to the hole. Sometimes luck is on my side… 😝 Now - should I go buy a DOSqd for AWC or use 2 Kamoer peristaltic pumps? I love these things since they are very quiet and reliable. However, the DOS is well integrated into Apex.

I would use some of the pro versions of the Kamoer pumps as they are designed to run just about forever. As much as I really like Apex stuff, I'm not sure how long the DOS are intended on running/lasting. Is your plan a continuous water change, ir intermittent? That decision might make the equipment decision easier ..

I have 2 of these Kamoer STP2 pumps that were used as continuous peristaltic pumps. They are workhorses; and with proper care, they’ll last for years! The goal is to take out 5gal and put in 5gal 24/7. The ATO operates independently.

Bought the mat to protect the porcelain flooring. We should have 1” around the tank. Now we wait… this is killing me! a.co/d/0cJcwuwf

The AquaWiz is here! I’m a horrible reviewer - just a dumb user. The packaging is decent, well protected. The instructions could need a little help but I managed to get it up and running.

The device is small and sleek - not to shabby and matching my reefing decor.

I’ve tested with Hanna and did my first calibration: 7.6dKH. I was hovering around 7.8 last Thursday. Looks like Alk is depleting faster than I was testing or simply testing tolerances. Anyway, goal is to push Alk to around 8dKH.
