Nori

I was just feeding my tank some nori and got to thinking. How many of you feed nori to your tanks regularly? And how much?

— Yup....

Stuff is great. My past tangs got fat off that stuff. Definitely a plus in my experience. Can be messy without some experimenting with folding and clips, etc....

one 7x4 inch sheet daily folded up tightly. mostly for my foxface (pic below) but everybody eats it. when I'm out of town I use an automatic feeder to feed pellets or flakes instead.

I've been feeding extra lettuce and other macroalgae (dragon's breath, pom pom). I'll even pull bubble algae from my frag tank and feed it to the display for my yellow tang.

I feed a roughly 4x4” square to the tank daily. All the fish eat it, not just the tangs

I feed 4 sheets of nori a day! I’ve been buying this in bulk… my fish cost less than my teenagers so I feel better, I guess? 100 Sheets (6.7oz) Dried Kelp... amazon.com/dp/B00VY99OXU?…

Has anyone tried the 3d printed nori feeders so it doesn't get everywhere?

Ive seen em, but typically my fish go through it so fast it doesn't make a big mess.. I use the Two Little Fishies magnetic clip because all the others I have used suck...

On a 3/4” or bigger sides, those magnets won’t hold, esp when you got 8”+ angels attacking it! Therefore, I tie mine using fishing lines! 😁 Mess? Everything gets consumed in my tank…

Joe - perhaps yours is a “premium” brand and your fish can tell the difference, have you looked at mine? It’s almost 50% cheaper. Just a thought…

I have that brand too. can't remember if my fish didn't like it or if i didn't because it was too thin or breaks up easily? it's in my fridge so I'll try again tomorrow. I'll put them both on clips to see which one my fish finish first. 😁

@Ndrwater - I believe you should not get roasted nori. Check out the ones I’ve been buying… no affiliation, just what I’ve been buying for a few years now. Besides, it’s much cheaper, too! Just sharing…
