Going to connect to one of my MP40s. Anyone ever use before? Did i make the right call and still plug to apex?

Good call - you should just power one of your MP40s in case of a brownout.

Itโ€™s always good to have battery backups, but youโ€™re better off using something from ecoflow that uses lithium phosphate batteries instead on the very old and unreliable ones that ecotech uses. Ecoflow has so many different ones to choose from and you can often find factory refurbished ones on their eBay store that come with a factory warranty. Some of the bigger ones have solar hookups available, which makes them even better choices for us here in SoCal. They even have whole house battery backup systems with integrated smart panels.

@kwerber as you know, we did a DIY solution for the MP60s and the whole fish room. They use LiFePO4 like @Drexl mentioned. For a nominal fee (a few high-fives) I can build one for you if youโ€™re interested.

Yeah picking up an ecoflow when they are on sale for labor day. We have so much invested in our tanks we need to back up the power.

Iโ€™ve had a few unexpected power outages and they were so random that Iโ€™m considering a whole house solution with solar. The ecoflow DPU X and smart panel 3 seem like the best solution, plus, weโ€™re long overdue for the next big shake, so having something that can handle the entire house makes sense to me.

100% If we weren't renting that would be done already

I run multiple power ckts to the fish room. Half of my tankโ€™s return pump, reactors, etc go to my UPS. I can sustain a 10hr outage without any issues. In fact, between 4pm - 9pm everyday, the system will fail over from street power to UPS to a) test the automation and b) save a little on electricity. The DIY unit for the MP60s can run for another 30+ hrs. My SCE charge is ridiculously expensive!!! My peak cost between 4pm-9pm is 57c/kWh!!!! Normally it is 25c/kHw. I wish I can solar but itโ€™s cost prohibitive to install that for us. My electricity essentially tripled within 6 years. Itโ€™s outrageous! Sorryโ€ฆ uhmmmmโ€ฆ deep sighโ€ฆuhmmm
