I cleared up some space in my tank and added some very cool new pieces from @BackbayReef 🤣 tank flow is awesome after removing two huge colonies. also moved some stuff around cleaned a gyre, cleaned the glass, and now my back hurts. I'll leave the nem tank for tomorrow.

Today did a 10g water change on the nem tank. Topped off the 20g Reservoir, cleaned the skimmer, calibrated the ph probe, added some Rowaphos and changed all mechanical filtration

Feeding, scraped the glass, cleaned the skimmer, filled the ATO, read ICP results....The usual stuff.

Outside of the usual nori & frozen feeding, I cleaned the glass and checked reactors. Frag plates arrived so did some fraggings. Other than that — super boring

drove a uhaul to pick up a tank at sea side. it's going to sit in my front yard until you guys come over tomorrow😊 seriously, I should have enough help, but if anyone is available to stop by diamond bar around 3-4, why not ? dm me. you can take home a free indo gold torch or hammer. I'll also be grilling carne asada and hot dogs so we can chill and talk reef. I'd like to have everyone over once the new tank is up and running too. I'll kyp on that.

65gal: cleaned the acrylics, moved some frags around 150gal: cleaned the glass, knocked off all asterina’s that are HODL due to the Harlequin shrimp from @Drexl 550gal: rescued the Regal from the Passer’s attack!

Got the co2 canister refilled today, and hubby finished setting up the CaRx, so now that’s online. Just gotta get it dialed in.

I played whack-a-mole with valonia using my trusty spear siphon. I got through about 2/3 of it, but my arm got tired stabbing the s*** out of it. Tomorrow I do a major w/c and cleaning of my nano system, then back to finish up the rest of the valonia stabbing. Pitho crabs are busy every night, but I think I could use more, so I might need to make another trip soon?

You don’t have an extra one to just swap? I have 2 just in case. Also, curious how you tune the CaRx?

We used to, back before we took a break from the hobby. We didn’t intend on jumping back in, so sold/gave away a lot of our old stuff. Hubby kept this one tank just in case. There’s a place like 5 mins away from us that we fill it at. I don’t know if this method is a usual method, or his own invention, but I’ve been testing straight from the drip line, and testing the alk in the display. I don’t know what magic number he is trying to achieve between the 2. I’m just the tester lol. We are trying to reduce AFR usage. Our alk had fallen to 7.3, but after having the CaRx online over night, it has come up to 7.8. Once we are in the 8s again, we are dialing back the AFR and testing again to make sure it holds steady.
