Were you thinking of something like the light mount in this thread? https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/this-is-it-my-last-build-thread.1037561/page-2
While it's no where near as big as Aquarium of the Pacific, if you're interested in the local SoCal marine flora and fauna and are in the Dana Point area, there is the Ocean Institute down in the harbor. It's geared more towards education for younger people.
Question for @wsoldier, real or not real?

The clown prison is just some RBT's , The 60 is new and I am waiting for that to settle down. That is running ESV > But they all get a squirt of A&K Hey @TangerineSpeedo, do you happen to have any pictures (or better yet, a build thread) of your temperate tank. Do you stock it with local critters?
Wow, that was fast. Thanks!
DUH! Now I see what you're talking about. On other forums they have it also at the beginning of each individual thread.

Love to hear how each decade had changed since then. My first saltwater tank was in 1996 and the airstone “skimmer” was the coolest idea ever! Ha Thanks for the reply. Are you seeing this while using your phone? I'm not seeing this using my desktop. One could say that reefing in 1979 was a "little different". Used to strive for "Glass Anemones" and a tank full of green hair algae to keep the $8.00 yellow tangs well fed. Trickle filters, wood airstones for the DIY skimmers, RUGFs (old school like Paul), collecting water from the last fishing dock (by the Gillette house) on the Balboa peninsula on an incoming tide, just so many crazy experimental things we've tried over the years.
Seaside Tropical Fish is the only one I've been to in the past 5 or so years.
I will! Haven't unpacked all my hard drives yet but do have this one handy.
